Antona designs and markets a line of RS232, USB and Ethernet to RS422/RS485 converters that plug into a PC DB-9 serial port, PC/MAC USB port or Ethernet RJ-45 and output RS422, RS485 and RS232 level signals. Our DB9 RS422 adapters follow the SMPTE pinouts compatible with many types of multimedia equipment. Jumper pins allow any of our adapters to be used as a controller or client. RS422 level signals from an RS232 interface. Our ANC-6090 converts RS232 level signals to RS422 differential signals for noise immune communication at 115 Kbaud at distances up to 4000 feet. The adapter plugs into the serial port of the PC and for most applications, is powered from the serial port. USB Serial - Our low cost ANC-6204 multi-interface USB adapter provides RS232, RS422, RS485 or TTL application in one converter. Now you can stock just one adapter to fill all your legacy "RS" serial interfacing plus provide a low level TTL control interface. The adapter includes a 3 foot 'type A' cable connection that plugs into any PC or MAC USB port. The RS232 DB-9M connector is compatible as a PC comport and the RS422/485 DB-9F follows the SMPTE pinout arrangement common to multimedia equipment.

Our ANC-6185 has the same features as the ANC-6085, but with a choice of either a 6-pin terminal or RJ-45 type connector for using CAT-5 type cable interfacing. The ANC-6090S/D is an internally mountable powered version RS232/RS422 adapter which provides 1 or 2 RS422 ports from the PCs RS232 ports. Drawing power from the PC's power supply, extended cable runs or terminated connections are not a problem. You simply use the internal RS232 cabling from the PCs I/O card or motherboard, and plug the DB9 that is normally chassis mounted into the back of the adapter. The adapter is perfect for permanent RS422 installations where a dedicated RS422 interface and clean-looking placement is desired.

If your applcation requires synchronizing the process with a video sync signal (in video/MIDI applications for example). The ANC-6023 offers the same RS232/RS422 conversion plus video sync interrupt generation for multimedia specific applications. The adapter has a BNC connector which allows the designer to input and process NTSC RS170 level composite or striped video.
